Looking for the perfect gift for the man on your list? Here are a few suggestions that will fill his feet with holiday cheer, any time of the year. I personally went on a hunt for items that were nice looking and good for your feet, from the podiatrist’s perspective. Most of these items were available locally at REI in Schaumburg, IL. Here is what I found…..
SmartWool Mocaroon Slippers $80 – A bit of a splurge for slippers, but well worth it! If your guy complains of heel pain after walking on your wood floors, this will muffle his whimpers. These have a great insole which can be removed to make room for a custom orthotic!
Chaco Flip $50 – Flip flops are a great gift, especially if you have a warm weather vacation in sight and plan to escape the cold of the Barrington area. I do not condone them as an everyday shoe, but if you have someone on your list that lives in flip flops, these have a classic look with some good support. If you want something a bit more flashy, there is the Hiapo by OluKai $100 which also has a good foot bed.
Asolo Power Matic 250 Hiking Boots $119-$260 – I ran across these while on a hunt for a good work boot. For the guy that works outside all day, a good work boot is hard to find. I was disappointed in most of the traditional brands, like Red Wing & Wolverine. These Asolo boots have good construction and come in a gortex and non-gortex model. They are light weight and have a stiff foot bed with a nice cushioned insole.
Wigwam & Thorlos Socks – These American Made socks come in all sizes and colors. Everyone needs them and I promise that these will not disappoint any feet.
Injinji toe socks $12 – Tempt them with something new. These socks keep the toes from rubbing which helps those that are prone to blisters or fungus between the toes. I tried them and they felt a bit funky at first, but I think they could do the trick.
